Go Way Jose...
Finally, the whiney old gypsy has left us for pastures new. From his scintilating debut to his departure Jose Antonio Reyes has been a player you either love or hate, but now he's gone. Amazing, JAR10 is only 23, but seems to have been moaning on about the weather, the state of England and missing his dear old Mum for around 25 years at least. However, the good people of Madrid will now have to put up with his nonsense as he's w(h)inged his way to Athletico Madrid for around £8m.
Reyes said: "I am happy I am back in Spain again and with the club I wanted to join. The club have been interested in me a long time and tried to sign me from Sevilla when I was 13. I owe it to them, Real wanted me right up until the last moment but Atletico made a great effort to get me..." Reyes appeared to be booed by a large section of the crowd out to welcome him, but has vowed to win them over: "I am a little bit worried by the fans reaction, but I will have to prove my worth on the pitch, scoring goals, and by helping them to be successful..." First game for Athletico? Real Madrid of course! Good luck with that Jose.
Gall'as More Like It...
In today's The Sun, William Gallas is getting behind the team, instead of slagging us off: "In the past we have relied too much on lovely football to see us through. But we have learned from last season. Sometimes you have to fight to achieve success. Some people have claimed this club is on a downward spiral. But there is an enormous determination to put things right. Last season we were behind the leaders too early. We can’t let that happen again..."
Fab Number One...
Our new goalkeeper signing Lukasz Fabianski has warned Mad Jens Lehmann™ that he's all out to get his first team place. "Of course the rivalry is pretty intense, but it is all fair play and according to rules. They [Lehmann and Almunia] are both nice to me and I enjoy working with them. I can’t say a bad word about them because they are both decent blokes. We will see what the near future will bring. I know that it won’t be easy to become a first-choice keeper but it never was easy and I expect some tough competition. I have to work hard and make my name at this Club. I know that Lehmann is in a better position than me but it doesn’t worry me at all. I just want to focus on hard work and I know that the results will come. I know that I will have my chances. I just need to prove that I am good enough..."
CLQ Draw...
The draw for the Champions League qualifiers takes place this Friday in Nyon. Arsenal.com have run a piece telling you who we could meet in our annoying qualifying efforts. Like a box of Quality Street, there are some hard ones in here: Fenerbahce, AEK Athens, Dinamo Bucharest, Spartak Moscow, Toulouse, Zurich and Sparta Prague. One noteable ommission from the draw is Top Four Tottenham, a side who have already earned their place by spending a fortune in the transfer market and having an amazing history with as many league titles as Chelsea...
Also, w ith a bit of man united luck, we could also face one of the winners of this lot:
Debreceni VSC (Hungary) v IF Elfsborg (Sweden)
KRC Genk (Belgium) v FK Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina)
FC København (Denmark) v Beitar Jerusalem FC (Israel)
FC Astana (Kazakhstan) v Rosenborg BK (Norway)

Diarra Rumours Persist...
Not that we trust Sky Sports after the Di Maria incident, but they are stick pressing on with the Chelsea's Lassana Diarra move by Wenger. They claim, us and Chelsea are in talks to take the Frenchman to Ashburton Grove. Apparently he didn't travel to Brondby with the rest of the Chelsea so perhaps the story does have legs, or he could just be injured... Watch this space... well, not this one, cos we're a bunch of liars on a retarded bandwagon...
Gilbert signs for Southend...
It's a headline AND a story all in one... After his spell on loan at Cardiff, and release in oh so weird circumstances, the Gilbert has joined Southend: "At Arsenal I'm not going to get the chance to really play this season because they have signed another right-back, so hopefully I can kick on at Southend and play a lot of first-team games to take the club where they want to be, I played against them twice last season and in the second game they won at Ninian Park, so it was an easy choice for me..."
