Gallas Out for 3 Weeks...
William Gallas is OUT for around 3 weeks after injuring his groin during our 1-1 draw with Blackburn. Gallas was replaced by Big Phil Senderos and will miss Man City, the 2nd leg of our Champions League qualifiers, and also France's friendly against Slovakia and even his country's Euro 2008 qualifiers in September...
Silva Leaving...
Brazilian Manager Dunga, has expressed a desire to see his Captain Gilbert O'Silva leave England and head Juventuswards: He said: "I think he is ready for an experience in Italian football and for Juventus..." er... yeah cheers.
Blackburn 1 - 1 Arsenal...
A goal from RVP after 18 mnutes wasn't enough to continue with our 100% record at Blackburns Ewood Park on Sunday. David Dunn scored via Jens Lehmann's second howler in as many league games, seeing the ball slip through his hands in into the net for the equaliser. In a scrappy game with over 50 yellow cards, there were lots of niggly challenges, and as always the two managers had a war of words after the game.
The Frenchman said: "We were very resilient against a team that were over-physical. I felt sometimes that there was a desire of violence rather than commitment in some of the challenges. We wanted to play, but we had to cope with a lot of long balls and set-pieces from Blackburn. I am pleased with the attitude of my players and the resilience they showed. They battled very hard and they are obviously frustrated because we should have come away with the three points..."
But Mark Hughes hit back: "It was a cheap shot. He was hiding behind those comments because his team were dominated, I don't think he was very gracious. This was a good competitive game we deserved to win. The worst challenge was Van Persie on Nelsen and their key personnel did not trouble us..."
Premiership Round Up...
top Four Tottenham's Champions League Qualification took an unexpected turn this weekend - upwards. They demolished Premiership challengers Derby County AT HOME, and found themselves above Arsenal and man united for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. It was only the point we gained at Blackburn which leapfrogged the European Giants of North London, and now all eyes are on, what some are calling the Premiership decider, man u v Spurs this coming Sunday. Meanwhile in other news, Liverpool and Chelsea drew 1-1 with yet another dodgy penalty for Chelsea...
