Jeffers to be an Ex-Tractor Fan...?
Ipswich are on the brink of pulling out of a deal for Franny Jeffers (49). Ipswich have increased their offer to around £600,000 for the veteran Jeffers, but Blackburn are thought to be holding out for a cool £1m. Ipswich Chairman Frankie Sheepshanks said: "There is a disagreement over values at the moment. I am hopeful a deal can be completed and we are determined to bring Franny to Ipswich if we can. But we cannot pay over the odds. Nor can we breach the pay structure at our club, and we appreciate we cannot wait for ever before looking seriously at alternatives to Franny. We have other options..."

But We Love You Ro-Land-o...
Italian papers, The Sun-io and The Mirror-ioare reporting the Premiership basement clubs, us, Man City and Portsmouth are in for Reggina's Rolando Bianchi. The former U21 international was close to a move to Napoli but the deal fell through paving for way for the Premierships relegation fodder to make a move...

Theo - Remember Him...?
Young Theo Walcott is back in training and has set himself a tough target ahead of the new season. Walcott is currently recovering from a shoulder injury, and should be raring to go for the new season along with Edward O'Silva, and Robin van Persie, and the other fella, Walcott sounds in bullish mood: "I’m working hard to get myself fit for the new season, when I want to get 10 goals. I’ve set myself a target of making 20 to 25 starts for the first team..."

Us - Cesar...?
According to Sky Sports (not sure why they are featuring us in their reports now, thought they only reported on Premiership teams) we are hot on the trail of Mexican U21 star Cesar Villaluz. It could be a never seen before, oh-so-clever rouse to alert some interest, but the player said: "I don't know if what has been said about Arsenal is true in the last days as nobody has said anything to me, most of all my agent. So I prefer, for the moment, to keep my mind on the Under 20 national team. Obviously it's very important for me if there are scouts from teams like Arsenal watching me, but I really don't know anything. It's good and motivating, but my agent is the person in charge to handle those things. He does the work outside the pitch and I have to try to keep on doing the best on the pitch so important teams keep on watching me. If I keep on playing well that will give my agent more options and he will know what to do. Personally I only want to think of the national team and I will only talk again about this topic if my agent tells me something..."

Baps Keen on Wenger...
The worst Brazilian since Pete Doherty went mental with his rusty scissors on Kate Moss, Julio Baptista, has been speaking out about his admiration for Sir Wenger. The striker, now safely back with Real Madrid said on Tribal Football: "He coaches you to play with intelligence, you learn how to play with and without the ball. Working with Wenger, I've learned how to receive the ball in the most dangerous areas and to press on against the opposition where it hurts them most..." Shame you didn't stay for a bit longer, the next lesson was 'How to Shoot on Target...'

More later, maybe...
