New Signings...? Wouldn't Bet on it....
According to Sky Sports, The Independent, The Daily Mail and the Mirror (at least) we are said to be signing the Brazilian Pedro and Angel Di Maria and, as is standard these days, loaning them to Salamanca. Several reports also claiming we've signed Angel Di Maria, namely Sky Sports, see here for original rumour... you think these journalists would be a bit more careful, what with the Palacio scandal this week. We shall be going for the hat trick soon, Angel Di Maria, Didier Baptiste, and one more I reckon... watch this space, Sky Sports et al - you've been merked (again).
Pitch Battles...
No offence to groundsman Paul Burgess, but the interview on Arsenal.com is possibly the most boring thing I have ever read. The highlight of a 19 page interview being this one: "Paul, were there any teething problems with the pitch in first few months? There was a problem with the power supply for our lighting system although 90 per cent of the time it worked how we wanted it to. But everything else has gone to plan..." Zzz... an interview with Akers would be much better, and the time him and his band of brothers got stuck in a lift with the Ladies Brazilian and Swedish volleyball teams, now THATs an interview...
Turks Stuffed...
Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners in Austria last night aganst Turkish side Glencerbirligi (or summat) in our first proper competitive friendly. Theo Walcott was on target and Robin van Persie hit two. Edward O'Silva came on in the second half, and Bacardi Sagna also had his first run out in an Arsenal shirt...
Scurrillous Rumours...
The Daily Mirror claim that... Stan Kroenke wants to takeover, so he can bring back Double D and in turn ensure Sir Wenger doesn't quit the club. They reckon (which is the true part) that Krankie owns 12% of the club, while Double D still owns 14.5%, so they could join forces and make a takeover bid apparently. Still, we'll see. t's also thought that Arsenal are now welcoming a move by Krankie, but again this is yet to be seen. An Arsenal statement said yesterday: "There is an open invitation by the chairman for Stan Kroenke to meet the rest of the board..."
Very poor... more later... let me know if you see any more on Di Maria... info@arsenalshorts.com
