Noah Nips Down Jewsons...
Though its a shame the rumour that Spurs turned down Zinedine Zidane isn't true, the reality is even more amusing. There has been an urban myth floating around for a while that ZZ was turned away from a trial, and that ex-Tottenham mulletted
Manager Gerry Francis said the player was 'too wooden'.
However in reality, when Zidane was asked whether this was true he uttered the immortal line: "Who? His translator then apologised and added: "I don't think he has heard of Tottenham Hotspur..."
Keeper Missed...
Celtics keeper Artur Boruc has extended his contract with the plucky Celts for another 3 years, scotching (get it?) rumours of a move to The Emirates. With the mad German apparently unsettled, it was thought that the Pole between the sticks was a target for Sir Wenger. Boruc said: "I am very grateful to the Celtic management for putting their trust in me, that's why I accepted the new contract offered to me and I have extended it for three more years..."
Freeman Catalogues a Move...?
Not ever sure that makes sense, but hey, it might, thats good enough for me. The Daily Mail reckon we could be signing Gillingham's teenage striker Luke Freeman and will join us when he turns 16...
Burnley 0 Arsenal 2...
Another goal for Eduardo and Bendtner saw us safely through to the 4th Round of the FA Cup this weekend, with a 2-0 win over potential potato skin Burnley. Burnley hit the bar twice, and came close several times, but a slick performance by a first and a half string XI was enough. Next game, Tottenham in the Carling Cup semi-final 1st leg this Wednesday. Draws on at lunchtime, mine's a Stella...
Lehmann Decision Imminent...
Rumours persist about Jens Lehmann doing einz away from the Emirates as he continues to sulk his way through the season, unhappy that Manuel Almunia has taken on the mantle of the number one jersey, metaphorically speaking. It's thought Lehmann may head back to his native Germany, but has to consider his family, which I suppose, is fair enough: "Since this is a difficult decision which affects my family above all, I need to consider and discuss a few things, I cannot name a definite date (for my decision), but I think it will be within a few days..."
