Recovery Going to Plan...

Eduardo has now jetted off to Brazil to continue his recovery. The striker had his leg broken by The First Division's Martin Taylor™. Le Boss has spoken out about the Croatian Brazilian's recovery and said: "The medical profession say he will make a full physical recovery, we don't believe physically there will be a problem afterwards, but how much impact it will have in his head when he sees the tackles flying in again only the future will tell us. We believe medically there is no problem - he will play again - but after that how well can he deal with it? He is a tough boy so I am confident he will deal with it..."

"At the moment we sent him to Sao Paolo, where he was born, where he can wait before he starts rehabilitation. There is a good physio there in Sao Paolo who he knows, and he is taking care of him. When he is ready to start training at the beginning of the season he will come back of course. We expect him to be out completely for six months but to play really at the top, top level, it will be nine months..."

There were rumours he could be in light training in August, teaching Argos Standard Lamps to set the offside trap, and Warm Moody Uplighters to defend set pieces...

Miracles Can Happen...
Top 4 Tottenham need just 38 points from this weekend's last game at Wembley to cap off an amazing year and finish above us, and in the top four, exactly where their fans had called it before the start of the season. Alll of the pre-season talk was of easily finishing above us, down to their amazing squad, the loss of Thierry Henry and Martin Jol's incredible man and pie management skills, and despite all this they could still see their dreams come true. Only trouble is, Spurs aren't actually in the Cup Final, but their ever-optimistic fans won't care as the glory year threatens to return to White Hart Lane this weekend...

BA to Fly into the Emirates...?
Hatem Arthur Ben Arfa could be on his way to Arsenal it's claimed in Monday's the The Sun. They reckon that we have already made a £15m deal with Lyon for the winger, but there are also rumours of a new deal to keep the 21 year old in France... who knows what to beleive as the silly season gets into full swing.

As a rule, the offical ArsenalShorts stance on these kind of rumours are as follows... we shall only report a rumour, if a) the club officially announces a signing or a sale with times and dates of any transactions, announced by the CEO, Manager or selling team's Manager, b) if the report has been substatiated by a full quote (with fully released copyright license) by the player directly and/or the club (buying and/or selling) and c) if the players name, or their agent's name sounds like a rude word, rhymes with a rude word, or can be used to make up a headline we find remotely amusing. Hope that clears that up.

When Irish Eyes are Smiling...
Irish playmaker Gilbert O'Silva hope to finish his career with Arsenal, and wants talks with Sir Wenger this week, this much is true. The World Cup winning skipper wants his just rewards for passing the ball backwards, and/or giving it away sooner rather that later it's thought. He may also turn his attentions to a career back in his homeland of County MichelleMcManus where other Irish Internationals train disadvantaged kids to pass the ball backwards and look like they are going to cry, like ... all the time...

RVP Hopeful and Philosophical...
Robin van Persie has been speaking out about our silverwareless season, and reckons we should be looking forward to winning something next season. Van Persie, who missed most of the season through not playing said: "I am 100 per cent convinced we will soon win big trophies, when that happens, I know the whole world will be behind us. It will be a lasting memory if we win it with our style of play. "We started great, but at the last hurdle we did not make it. We were very unlucky. Against Liverpool in the Champions League, we were more or less in the semi-final six minutes from the end. We get one unfair penalty against us and we are out of the Champions League. Should we put all our philosophy and vision on the way Arsenal play overboard because of one lousy penalty? I don't think so..."
