Pompey Battered...
On a weekend when Liverpool threatened to steall all the headlines, we made sure we kept up with the leaders with a 3-1 win over Portsmouth at the Emirates. Goals from Adebayor, The Cesc, and Tomas Rosicky saw us comfortably through with the reply coming from Kanu. Phil Senderos was sent off when he tangled with Kanu on the edge of our box, but the lads held out for all three points to take us above Chelsea and Everton, and up to second, well, joint first really...

Premiership Round-Up...
Chelsea lost the chance to become the Invincibles, when they were hammered at Villa Park, 2-0. Top4Tottenham's surge to next seasons Champions League took another upward twist with yet another away point at Fulham. Leading 3-1, Spurs managed to salvage a point with a 3-3 draw, Fulham scoring with the last (overhead) kick of the game...

Carling Cup...
We have been drawn at home to play Newcastle in the League Cup this season, other ties of note were... um... Chelsea away to Hull...

Diarra Signs... but you knew that.

Savage Speaks...
Football philosopher, star of The Wonder Years, and voice of reason Robbie Savage has been slagging us off for some reason. Savage has been quoted as saying: "Wenger is a great manager and van Persie is a great player but they give as good as they get. Van Persie did a piece in the paper slaughtering us, which is wrong. It's a man's game. It's physical. You're going to get stuck in and make tackles. And they do that, so it's very hypocritical of them. It gets on our nerves. We saw van Persie's piece in the paper the other day and we didn't like it. Arsenal give as good as they get..." Someone had to read it out to Savage presumably, while he peeled bananas with his toes...

Draw Complete...
Sevilla beat AEK Athens last night 4-1, to seal their place in the Champions League Groupo stages. They will be in our group along with both Slavia Prague and Steaua Bucharest. The game was delayed after the death of Sevilla player Antonio Puerta. Our first game will be at home to Sevilla on the 19th of September...

Just getting back into it, be patient punters... more later...
